Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe.

1. Data we collect

We collect the following categories of data:

  • Account data — your name, email, and authentication details.
  • Trading data — trade history, fills, balances, and account metrics imported from your connected broker.
  • Content you create — journal entries, tags, strategies, notes, and uploaded chart screenshots.
  • Usage data — device, browser, and interaction events used to operate and improve the Service.

2. Broker credentials handling

Almanac connects to MT5 brokers using read-only investor passwords. These credentials cannot be used to place trades, modify positions, or move funds. Credentials are encrypted at rest and in transit, access is restricted to the systems that perform synchronization, and you can revoke a connection at any time from your settings. We do not sell or share your broker credentials with any third party.

3. How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Provide and operate the Service, including syncing and analyzing your trades.
  • Generate analytics, reports, behavioral scores, and AI insights for you.
  • Process payments and manage your subscription.
  • Communicate with you about updates, security, and support.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and technical issues.

4. AI processing

When you use AI features, relevant trade data and any content you submit (such as chart screenshots) may be processed by AI models to generate responses, summaries, and scores. We do not use your private trade data to train third-party foundation models, and AI providers process this data under contractual confidentiality and data-protection commitments. AI output is informational only and may be inaccurate.

5. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences, plus a limited set of analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality.

6. Third parties

We rely on a small number of trusted processors to run the Service:

  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
  • Broker APIs — to securely import your read-only trading data.
  • AI providers — to power chat, vision analysis, and summaries.
  • Infrastructure & analytics — hosting, error monitoring, and product analytics.

7. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise many of these directly in-app, or by contacting us. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
